Words of Faith to Destress

Hello my friend

How's life? Great, I hope, and I pray!

So, I am at this cafe I frequent, and I am talking to the gal that works the register, and I ask her, "How's life?"

She says she is stressed. Can you believe that?

She goes on and on about how she is overwhelmed, she is taking 17 units in school, and she has to pay bills.

It takes every ounce of my energy to NOT speak the words of how to destress yourself, and I didn't.

Why don't I?

I always talked to everybody about destressing because I wanted to heal the world. I want to tell people that stress is created by fearful beliefs and thoughts. But, I have discovered that many people need someone to listen with love rather than preach and teach.

Many people are anxious, angry, depressed, fatigued, moody, and unhappy and need, more than anything in the world, to be listened to and supported.

I have learned to listen and love. I have learned to feel more and talk less when someone is venting about stress.

But...

What I want to ask is...

Do you believe in God?

Deep down in your heart, do you believe in God and that He will do what He says He will in the Bible?

Do you believe His words when He says, have faith?

What I want to say is...

Have faith, my friend.

Have faith in God and that He will take care of you.

Have faith in yourself and that you can handle it.

YOU CAN HANDLE ANYTHING!

What I want to say is...

Your stress, my friend, is fearful thoughts you keep thinking by default.

Stress is created by thinking of all the bad things that "might" happen.

Stress is sustained by obsessed fearful thoughts of being unable to handle the future.

You may be so focused on beliefs that you are overwhelmed, and those beliefs create fear and anxiety.

I want to ask...

Have you ever gone through a really tough time or had an experience that made you think this was the worst thing ever to you?

What happened?

Did you survive?

Of course, you did because you are still here, and you are still standing.

What if you were to think, no matter what happens, I can handle it because I always do?

What would be the best thing to happen to you right now?

What if you focused on that? What is the best possible outcome?

What if you knew choosing beliefs is free agency and the difference between default and desire?

What if you were to think of faith in yourself and that the best thing you believe can happen will?

What I want to say is...

Take your thoughts of doubt and turn them into faith.

No matter what happens, you will be fine.

Quiet your mind and think and feel this truth.

That's what I really want to say sometimes. ~wink~

And...

There's a lot more of that, where that came from...

TRUST ME! he he he...

I pray you to feel the truth of faith in God and yourself!

If you truly believe...

'WITH GOD, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE'

You may contemplate it, practice feeling the truth, and allow it to fill your entire being.

When you do, you will feel your way into destressing yourself.

Big ole hugs to ya...

Speak soon...

THREE WAYS TO RELIEVE EVERYDAY STRESS

Hey there.  How ya doin'?  I am doing great.  Life is wonderful, I am super happy, and I am having fun, fun, fun.

Did you know that there are three levels of stress?  There is general stress, which is everyday stress, cumulative stress, which is also known as burnout, and there is critical stress, which happens when you are experiencing, or have experienced, some sort of crisis.

Today, I would like to ramble on about everyday stress.  Well, what I would really like to do is give you three things that you can do to relieve everyday stress.

But first, what is everyday stress?  Excellent question my friend.

Everyday stress is when you are experiencing strain of some sort, like strain regarding work, strain regarding finances, strain regarding relationships (spouse, friends, children, family), strain regarding a busy schedule, and/or strain regarding your health.  This strain can be from emotional, mental, physical, and/or spiritual pressure.

So, if you are experiencing levels of everyday stress, here are three things you can do to relieve it.

1.  Believe in yourself, and that you can handle anything.  This is OH SO BIG!  When we feel stressed out, we are usually thinking in our mind that this (whatever you are going through) is too much and we might not be able to handle it, and that is where stress creeps in.  Confidence is the very foundation of relieving stress and what I mean by that is, it is the opposite of fear, which provokes stress.

Let me give you an example.  The other week, I was talking to an Emergency Room Nurse, and she recently got her RN.  She used to be an LVN, which is just below an RN on the education and pay scale.  While she was going through her training/clinical, she was super duper overwhelmed and she actually was holding the beliefs that she may not make it through her training because it was difficult.  Those thoughts of not believing she would make it are from her level of self-confidence, caused mental strain, and manifested into emotional and physical strain.

What is a person to do when they think that they are not going to be able to handle it?  You look at the evidence, and you tell yourself, I can handle this, and I will be fine.  The evidence is your history.  You have been very successful thus far in life, you are functioning as a productive person in society, you certainly have been through worse, and  you survived, yes?  YES!

When we believe in ourselves, and we know we can handle it, we relieve our stress, and that helps us be more successful at whatever we are doing.

2.  Prioritize your life.  This is so very important in order to relieve stress for two reasons, one we will overcome feelings of being overwhelmed, which is stressful, when we have too much on our plate, and two we get the most important things done and eliminate beating ourselves up, which is stressful, when we don't get things done.

In order to prioritize your life, ask yourself, "What do I need to do?"  Write the answer down in bullet form, number the list in priority, do the most important thing first, cross it off the list when you finish, and continue onto the next important item.

When we write a list of all the things we have to do, on a daily basis, number them in priority, and do the most important thing first, we can learn not only to be stress free by being super productive, we can create a habit of feeling constructive.

This prioritizing thingy, on a daily basis, has really helped me minimize my work day.  Too cool, eh?  I mean, how cool is it that I have most things done within hours versus double the hours?  Now, I have time to have fun, enjoy my day, and live the life of luxury, as I say...

3.  Learn to relax, and practice it.  Aye caramba, this is OH SO BIG, as well.  When we are stressed, we feel strain (repeat ;0)), and when we feel strain we are tense, and maybe a lil uptight.  The opposite of tension is relaxation.  When we get tense within our everyday stress, it turns into a HUGE habit.  What a better habit to have than relaxing?

It is my personal opinion, and experience, that many, and I mean many, people are addicted to tension.  When I speak with, and interview people who are experiencing stress, they always say they are tired, and they drink a whole lotta caffeinated drinks like coffee, and energy drinks.  Caffeine will engage and mimics the physical stress response.  Caffeine is a culprit of stress and anxiety.

People are so addicted to being energized that when they are tired, they may just be relaxed, and they actually think they are tired.  What I am saying is, many individuals want so much to feel energized, how do they know that they are not relaxed rather than tired?!?

People will say that they are so tired but what if they would just recognize and say that they are so relaxed.  I never hear people say, "I am so relaxed."  But they often say, "I am so tired."  And I interpret that as, "I need to feel hyper."  LOL

When we formally learn to relax, and practice it, we can easily recognize tension, and turn it into relaxation immediately.  We can have the habit of being relaxed.  Knowing how to relax, and having the habit of being relaxed provides an awareness, and a knowingness of safety and security, which is the opposite of nervousness, and anxiousness.

The most successful people I know are calm and relaxed the majority of the time.  We are all born with this trait, and it's a habit that can be sustained or relearned.  Learn to relax, if you need to, and practice it, and you will watch yourself destress.

Okee dokee, that's all I got.  Hope you have a great day.

BIG HUGS!!!

HOW DO I DESTRESS MYSELF???

Hey there! How are you doing? Hope you are having a great week so far.

You know the number one question that is asked of me is, "HOW DO I DESTRESS MYSELF?"

What a fully loaded question. The answer?!?

The number one way to destress yourself, no matter what you are going through,  is to change your thinking. Better yet, change your way of knowing.

First, you must know that you are the only thinker of your thoughts; therefore, you, and only you, are in charge of your thoughts.

Second, you have to know you have a choice: you can think of faith or doubt, fear, and worry.

Third, you must know you can rid yourself of addictive, stressful behavior.

Fourth, you must know you can replace addictive, stressful behavior with successful practices.

This is simple to see and know but not necessarily easy.

Did you know that many people allow their minds to float on autopilot, with doubt, fear, and worry about the future and anger, frustration, and guilt about the past?

What if you chose to learn to be here, right here, right now?
The book, The Power of Now, teaches you how to be fully present, enjoy your present moment and not live in the past or future. What problem do you have right now? This very moment? You don't really, do you? Maybe you have issues you think about and anticipate in the future, but you don't really have anything but this moment, now.

You are the thinker of your thoughts. Choose to enjoy this very moment.

Did you know people worry about the worst thing that could happen rather than anticipating the best thing that could happen? That is the addictive, stressful behavior I am talking about. What is an addiction? My definition of an addiction is something that you cannot stop that is affecting you negatively. Like, drama in a relationship, getting offended quickly and all the time, not liking others "just because", worrying about the future, blaming others for your failures, letting your thoughts and emotions run on autopilot, focusing on what is wrong with your life, focusing on what you don't have, and being way too serious. Need I go on?

Sound familiar?

And stressful behavior is the thoughts and behaviors we inflict upon ourselves that cause stress. Stress is not getting in a car crash; it is caused by what we think about after we crash. Pressure is not losing your job or home; it is caused by what we believe and do about it during and after we lose it.

So, "HOW DO I DESTRESS MYSELF?"

KNOW THAT YOU, AND ONLY YOU, ARE IN CHARGE OF AND CAN CHOOSE YOUR THOUGHTS.

KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A CHOICE. YOU CAN CHOOSE FAITH IN OTHERS AND YOURSELF OVER DOUBT, FEAR, AND WORRY.

KNOW THAT YOU CAN RECOGNIZE AND RID YOURSELF OF ADDICTIVE AND STRESSFUL BEHAVIOR.

AND FINALLY, KNOW THAT YOU CAN REPLACE THAT ADDICTIVE AND STRESSFUL BEHAVIOR WITH SUCCESSFUL PRACTICES, WHICH IS JUST THE OPPOSITE OF THAT BEHAVIOR.

YOU CAN DO IT!!! YOU GOT THE POWER!!! YOU CAN BE, DO, AND HAVE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR HEART ON!

Sounds so simple, doesn't it? But it is not necessarily easy.

Have a great week, and don't forget to have fun and be playful.

Gotta Have Faith Faith Faith...

Hello there my friend!  How are you this fine day?  I hope you are having the best day ever!

Got a couple questions for you!

Do you believe in yourself?

Do you believe you can accomplish your goals?

Well???  Do you???  Do you have faith in yourself?

A stressful habit we may have, at times, is lack of faith in ourselves.  This is a stressful habit because we worry about if we will be able to accomplish what we set out to achieve.  This worry causes stress.

You can believe that you can obtain any goal you set your heart and mind to.  Whether you believe it or not is just a thought, and we have free agency to choose our thoughts.

When I help individuals overcome serious stress, the majority of the stress is caused because of the thoughts that we have about the future.

I know a man who is very successful.  He is successful in that he makes over $250,000 a year, he has a great relationship with his wife and child, and he has all the luxuries that most people dream about.  His wife sent him to me because his stress at work was getting out of hand and intruding on his personal life.  After talking to him for about an hour, I spent three hours with him, we discovered that his stress was coming from a belief that he would not be able to sustain his business and his income.

As we talked more, we discovered that there was no evidence to support that he would not be able to continue to be financially successful.  Matter of fact, all the evidence pointed to him always having clients waiting for his service.  What it all boiled down to was the belief that he would not achieve and lack of faith in himself.  This lack of faith was generated through a habit of his thought process, a belief that he could not obtain his goals.

My friend has the power to obtain anything he sets his heart on.  We all have this power!  I may not know you but I know the power within you.  You can achieve all that you want.  How do I know this?  I know this because you are successful.  If you have made it this far in life (no matter how far that is), you are successful.  Look at all the things you have accomplished thus far.  Look at the relationships you have created, look at the jobs/careers you have or had, and look at all your successes so far.

You, my friend, are capable of doing anything you set your heart and mind to, all you have to do is set your heart and mind to it.

If you are having a hard time with having faith in yourself, then do this exercise.

List all of your accomplishments and mile stones in your life.  Include elementary school, Jr. high school, high school, sports, band, chorus, church, arts, relationships, vacations, careers, purchases, and anything else you can think of.  After you make this list, look back at these times and see how you did it.  Chances are you will see that you had ambition, desire, and drive.  I guarantee if you make this list and ponder these accomplishments they will remind you how great you really are and how great you continue to be.

Sometimes, as we get older, we stop setting goals, and then we become stagnant.  This may be happening to you and stagnation may increase doubt in yourself.

Remember all the goals you have set and accomplished so far in your life and ponder them.  This will increase your faith in yourself.

Detress yourself by having faith in yourself and that you can accomplish your goals.  When you do this you will discover what you can create in your life.

When you destress yourself, you change your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and attitude.  You change your thoughts, feelings, actions and attitude from stressful to successful.
